Cerebral Palsy

Postby lap006 » Mon Nov 08, 2010 1:33 am

I am treating a 30 year old male with mild cerebral palsy. He's had 3 treatments so far and is doing much better for decreasing phlegm, dampness and heat but I'm wondering if there is any information out there specifically working with cerebral palsy. His muscles tighten up at times making it difficult for him to walk but he it still very able-bodied considering. Would like to keep him walking so would like to know if there is more info out there.

Seems to respond best if treated early on in childhood.
post 20,s gets more tricky to treat.
Combo auricular acupuncture and strong stimulation vith chinese needles plus electro gets some results over ten or more sessions.

I guess you refer to needle strategy only. Since you did not post what acupoints you have used or what pattern differentiation you had come up wtih, there is no way to comments. As a rule of thumb, chronic cases we can alwats use back shu points. In your case, scalp acupuncture always helps.

It you use herbals, it is a whole new world out there and many strategies can be applied.

Qi deficiency pattern, use astragulus, Cinnemon, and Five Agents Decoction,
Liver and kindey Yin Deficiency pattern, use Di Huang Pill,
Liver stagnation and blood stasis, Four Agents Dec. etc.

Chinese medical diagnosis is necessary for any case studies.
