UB7 (Urinary Bladder 7) - Acupuncture Point Information

Chinese Name: Tongtian
English Name: Heavenly Connection

Location: 4 cun posterior to the anterior hairline, and 1.5 cun lateral to the midline of the skull (Dumai) [1 cun anterior and 1.5 cun lateral to Baihui / DU20]


Dispels wind, clears the nose.

Primary Indications:

Headache, dizziness/vertigo, nasal obstruction, epistaxis.

Tertiary Indications:

Rhinorrhea, anosmia, nasal polyps/sores, deviation of mouth (facial paralysis), hemiplegia, stiff neck, dyspnea.

Other Indications:

Hemeralopia, veil in interior of eye, facial neuralgia, indurated cervical adenitis, thirst due to lack of yin, cadaveric syncope, madness, patient runs like a madman, convulsions.
