UB43 (Urinary Bladder 43) - Acupuncture Point Information

Chinese Name: Gaohuangshu
English Name: Vitals Shu

Location: 3 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the fourth thoracic vertebra, on the vertebral border of the scapula.

Functions:

Reinforces Lung and Spleen, regulates Lung Qi, reinforces Xu conditions in general (including Xu fatigue-xu lao), calms the heart and strengthens the Kidneys, nourishes Yuan Qi, transforms phlegm.

Primary Indications:

Pulmonary tuberculosis, night sweats, cough, spitting blood/hemoptysis.

Secondary Indications:

Poor memory, seminal emission.

Tertiary Indications:

Asthma, Spleen and Stomach Xu (poor digestion), Xu conditions/weakness/fatigue, pleurisy, neurasthenia, vomiting, difficulty in swallowing.

Other Indications:

Wind taxation, affect damage, heart disease, frozen shoulder, pain along the spine, all hypersecretions, sensation of energy rising and rushing to the upper body.
