UB32 (Urinary Bladder 32) - Acupuncture Point Information

Chinese Name: Ciliao
English Name: Second Foramen

Location: In the second sacral foramen.

Precautions: Forbidden during pregnancy as this point stimulates uterine contractions (promotes oxytocin).

Functions:

Regulates the Lower Jiao, removes blood stasis from the uterus and regulates menses, eliminates Damp-Heat from the uterus (treats vaginal discharge), strengthens the low back and legs.

Primary Indications:

Irregular menses, vaginal discharge, low back pain.

Secondary Indications:

Wei and bi syndromes of the lower limbs.

Tertiary Indications:

Hernia, dysmenorrhea, sciatica, orchitis, constipation, lin syndrome, delayed labor, borborygmus and diarrhea, epigastric fullness.

Other Indications:

Vomiting, peritonitis, enuresis, impotence, nocturnal emission, female sterility, uterine prolapse, metritis, endometritis, ovaritis, pain due to excess of energy, sensation of cold in the back, cold knees, weak feet.
