UB27 (Urinary Bladder 27) - Acupuncture Point Information
Chinese Name: Xiaochangshu
English Name: Small Intestine Shu
Location: 1.5 cun lateral to the midline of the sacrum at the level of the first sacral foramen.
Nature:
Back-Shu point for the Small Intestine.
Functions:
Promotes the separation of the clear and the turbid, promotes urination, opens and regulates the Small Intestine, transforms stagnation and accumulations, eliminates dampness and clears heat.
Primary Indications:
Lower abdominal pain and distension, enuresis, dysentry.
Tertiary Indications:
Seminal emission, hematuria (blood lin), vaginal discharge, low back and sacral pain, lin syndrome, constipation, hernia, dry mouth/diabetes, haemorrhoids, foot swelling.
Other Indications:
Vexation, peritonitis, endometritis, prostatodynia, Yin (cold) of Bladder and Sanjiao, Yin (cold) or Yang (hot) disoders of Large and Small Intestine, special point for humoral liquids, rheumatism, sciatica.
