UB25 (Urinary Bladder 25) - Acupuncture Point Information

Chinese Name: Dachangshu
English Name: Large Intestine Shu

Location: 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the fourth lumbar vertebra.


Back-Shu point for the Large Intestine.


Regulates the intestines, regulates Qi and transforms stagnation.

Primary Indications:

Borborygmus, diarrhea/dysentry, abdominal pain, constipation, low back pain.

Tertiary Indications:

Abdominal distension, sciatica, back stiffness, lin syndrome, nephritis, appendicitis, intestinal haemorrhage, wei and bi syndromes of the lower limbs.

Other Indications:

Difficult ingestion, poor digestion, incontinence of urine, beriberi.
