UB2 (Urinary Bladder 22) - Acupuncture Point Information

Chinese Name: Sanjiaoshu
English Name: Sanjiao Shu

Location: 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the first lumbar vertebra.


Back-Shu point for Sanjiao


Regulates the transforming function of Qi (fluid transformation), eliminates dampness.

Primary Indications:

Borborygmus, abdominal distension, vomiting, pain and stiffness of low back.

Secondary Indications:


Tertiary Indications:

Indigestion, diarrhea, dysentry, jaundice, visual dizziness, headache, enuresis, nephritis.

Other Indications:

Neurasthenia, stomachache, spasms of the stomach, spasm of the stomach and intestine, patient thin without appetite, all digestive disoders, after catching a cold the patient presents with headache / vomiting /an irritating sensation in back and shoulder/spine is stiff / has diarrhea, large accumulations and gateherings in the lower abdomen, urinary retention, impotence, body fever, alternating fever and chills.
