UB12 (Urinary Bladder 12) - Acupuncture Point Information

Chinese Name: Fengmen
English Name: Wind Gate

Location: 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the second thoracic vertebra


Point of intersection of Dumai with Bladder channel


Dispels wind, clears the exterior, diffuses and regulates the Lung Qi, transforms phlegm, moxibustion used to enhance resistance to Wind-Cold attacks (namely to enhance Wei Qi) and to prevent asthma attacks in cold asthma.

Primary Indications:

Respiratory disorders (common cold / bronchitis / asthma / pleurisy / pneumonia / whopping cough), cough, stiff neck, back pain.

Tertiary Indications:

Headache, nasal obstruction, shoulder pain, fever, jaundice, urticaria, abscess on the back, vomiting, heat sensations.

Other Indications:

Heavy eye, sneezing, tonsillitis, agitation, infantile malnutrition, hemiplegia, quadriplegia.
