ST4 (Stomach 4) - Acupuncture Point Information

Chinese Name: Dicang
English Name: Earth Granary

Location: Lateral to the corner of the mouth, directly below the pupil of the eye when the eyes are looking straight ahead.


Point of intersection of Stomach channel with Colon channel, Yangqiaomai and Renmai.


Dispels wind (for facial paralysis)

Primary Indications:

Facial paralysis (deviation of mouth), excessive salivation.

Secondary Indications:

Twitching/spasm of eyelid.

Tertiary Indications:

Trismus, trigeminal neuralgia, loss of voice/aphasia, intestinal parasitosis.

Other Indications:

Myopia, cannot see clearly especially at night, pain and itching of eyes, lip rash, toothache with swollen cheek, fecal stoppage in children, inability to eat, swollen foot, swelling of legs, hemiplegia, ptyalism.
