ST25 (Stomach 25) - Acupuncture Point Information

Chinese Name: Tianshu
English Name: Heavenly Pivot

Location: 2 cun lateral to the centre of umbilicus.


Front-Mu point of the Colon.


Regulates the Colon (for diarrhea and constipation), clears Heat from the Colon.

Primary Indications:

Dysentry, borborygmus with abdominal pain/distension, abdomnal pain/umbilical pain.

Tertiary Indications:

Constipation, diarrhea, irregular menses, dysnmenorrhea, female infertility, edema, abdominal distension, vomiting, milky lin, intestinal parasitosis, abdominal masses.

Other Indications:

Fever with cold sensation and divagation, severe heat with raving, fullness of the chest, all chronic disorders of Stomach and Colon, indigestion, chronic indigestion, cannot eat, malnutrition and gradual weakening in infants, intestinal paralysis, abdominal muscle paralysis, gastrointestinal catarrh, illeus appendicities, peritonitis, running piglet, energy which assails the heart and chest, shan qi, typhoid, pain control, uterine pain, problems of uterine blood circulation, menstrual clots, amenorrhea, red or white vaginal discharge, vaginal discharge with blood, uterine haemorrhage or inflammation, low back pain.
