GB31 (Gall Bladder 31) - Acupuncture Point Information

Chinese Name: Fengshi
English Name: Wind Market

Location: On the midline of the lateral aspect of the thigh, 7 cun above the transverse popliteal crease. When the patient is standing erect with the hands close to the sides, the point is where the trip of the middle finger touches.

Functions:

Dispels Wind, relaxes the tendons, reinforces the low back and knees, regulates Qi and blood.

Primary Indications:

Hemiplegia.

Secondary Indications:

Itching.

Tertiary Indications:

Pain in low back and leg, Wei and Bi syndromes of lower limbs, foot swelling, sciatica, headache, leprosy.

Other Indications:

Eyes red and swollen, small intestine Qi pain, vacuity rumbling in the abdomen, scrotal swelling, dull pains in feet.
