GB30 (Gall Bladder 30) - Acupuncture Point Information
Chinese Name: Huantiao
English Name: Encircling Leap
Location: On a line between the greater trochanter and sacral hiatus, one third of the distance from the greater trochanter. Locate this point with patient in lateral recumbent position with thigh flexed.
Nature:
9th of Ma Dan Yang's Twelve Stars, point of intersection of Gall Bladder channel with Bladder channel.
Functions:
Benefits low back and legs, dispels Wind-Damp from the channels (treats Bi syndrome), major point for sciatica.
Primary Indications:
Pain in low back and hip, hemiplegia.
Tertiary Indications:
Wei and Bi syndromes of lower limbs, sciatica, foot swelling, edema, urticaria.
Other Indications:
Epilepsy, insensitivity due to Wind, pain in sides and kidneys.
