DU3 (Governing Vessel 3) - Acupuncture Point Information

Chinese Name: Yaoyangguan
English Name: Lumbar Yang Pass/Hinge

Location: Below the spinous process of the 4th lumbar vertebra.

Functions:

Regulates the Kidney Qi, benefits the lower back and knees, eliminates Cold Dampness.

Primary Indications:

Menstrual disorders, spermatorrhoea, pain in lumbosacral region, Wei and Bi syndromes of lower limbs.

Tertiary Indications:

Impotence, chronic enteritis, scrofula, vaginal discharge.

Other Indications:

Lower abdominal distension, hernia, continuous vomiting, myelitis.
