DU23 (Governing Vessel 23) - Acupuncture Point Information

Chinese Name: Shangxing
English Name: Upper Star (Also known as Guitang "Ghost Hall").

Location: On the midline of the cranium, 1.0 cun behind the anterior hairline.


10th of the 13 Ghost points.


Disperses Wind-Heat conditions, clears the nasal cavity.

Primary Indications:

Headache, eye pain, nasosinusitis.

Tertiary Indications:

Epistaxis, malaria, febrile diseases, psychosis, nasal polyps, swelling of face and head, myopia, keratitis, red face, eye-dizziness.

Other Indications:

Coryza, seizures.
