DU16 (Governing Vessel 16) - Acupuncture Point Information
Chinese Name: Fengfu
English Name: Wind Palace; Wind Mansion (Also known as Guizhen "Ghost Pillow").
Precautions: Needling this point at the incorrect angle or depth is extremely dangerous.
Location: Directly below the external occipital protuberance in the depression between the bilateral origins of the trapezius muscle, 1.0 cun within the hairline.
Nature:
6th of the 13 Ghost points.
Functions:
Eliminates Wind and clears the mind.
Primary Indications:
Wind-stroke with aphasia, headache, neck stiffness, eye-dizziness, epistaxis, sore throat.
Secondary Indications:
Epilepsy.
Tertiary Indications:
Psychosis, hemiplegia, common cold.
Other Indications:
All disorders of head, rigor of entire body, numbness of limbs, hypertension, beriberi, fevers, fear, jaundice, toothache.
